Eligibility: all YMUNE XIV delegates

Calling all delegate-artists! Join us in exploring "A World Without Borders,” a celebration of the spirit of international cooperation at the heart of Geneva and Yale Model United Nations Europe XIV.

In a city that embodies international diplomacy and cross-cultural dialogue, we challenge you to imagine a world where boundaries fade and connections flourish. Your artwork should reflect the essence of global unity, inspired by the UN's mission of fostering international collaboration and understanding. Delegates may consider thinking about the interconnected nature of global challenges, the process of building cultural bridges and shared human experiences, the importance of international cooperation and diplomacy, and what the future of global citizenship might look like. But of course, let your imagination run wild!

All mediums (i.e. digital art, paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, etc.) are welcome and encouraged! If you’re submitting a portfolio, please include it in one file.

Selected winners will receive a prize during the conference! With that said, let’s start creating—show us your vision for a borderless world!

Essay Competition

Topic: The Future of the United Nations

Submission deadline: March 12, 2025 at 11:59 PM EST

Submission format: pdf of your essay (1000 word limit) uploaded to this link

Eligibility: all YMUNE XIV delegates

As we gather in Geneva, the heart of international diplomacy, we encourage you to explore one of the most critical questions facing our generation: What lies ahead for the United Nations?

Throughout its 80 year history, the UN has experienced both extreme diplomatic highs, but also global challenges that test its capabilities. As the world continues to change, the UN will inevitably be put to the test again. What lessons from the past can be applied to shape the future of the UN? How relevant do you see the UN’s structure being as we near almost an entire century since its founding? Do you foresee any alternative models of global governance?

We invite delegates to think boldly, challenge assumptions, and share their ideas/suggestions in an essay format (max 1000 words). Feel free to use any style of writing you prefer—from narrative to academic expository paper. Selected winners will receive a special prize announced at the conference :)

The YMUN XIV Secretariat can’t wait to hear your ideas! After all, our generation will become the next set of global leaders and diplomats.
