an Iconic conference experience
YMUNE XVI is the 16th conference of Yale Model United Nations Europe, which brings together experienced Yale students and delegates from around the world to create an innovative, collaborative, and inspiring conference. Hallmarks include:
An innovative take on the traditional MUN format
YMUNE was created as a more educational and dynamic reimagining of the usual Model UN format. We have combined the best of American and European conferences to create a simulation devoted to issues pertaining Europe. Delegates will be placed in a diverse range of committees, ranging from the most standard UN committees to fictional worlds.
An integrated crisis
The biggest component of YMUNE’s unique format is the integrated crisis. During the conference, all committees will be hit with a simulated crisis that has significant consequences throughout Europe and the world. The delegates will have to work within and across committees and national barriers to solve this large-scale crisis, with each action having the potential to shift the whole course of the crisis.
integrated Press corps (IPC)
Often referred to as “the Fourth Estate,” the media independently and carefully follows all political events. YMUNE aims to reflect the reality of our world: while the media covers the UN’s plenary sessions to ensure transparency, our IPC delegates provoke YMUNE’s delegates to remain transparent in committee sessions, improving their critical thinking and public speaking skills. The IPC represent a range of media outlets, ask the important questions, and write stellar reports to inform the audience.
Our Mission
YMUNE hopes to raise awareness of and foster discussion about international relations in the European context through simulations of global crises and fast-paced debate.
